  • ABOUT ME

My name is Sarah Tompkins, I began riding American Saddlebreds at the age of 12 under the direction of Timber Hills Farm in Leighton, Iowa.  I competed in both performance and pleasure equitation.  I graduated from William Woods University in 1998 with a Bachelor of  Science Degree.  Immediately after graduating, I moved to Kentucky and worked for Jo Cornell and Zubrod Stables teaching riding lessons for the next 24 years.  In October 2014, I saw a huge need for a consignment saddle seat apparel store in the Louisville, Kentucky area and that is when "The Show Shop" was born.  The Store opened its doors on January 1st 2015.

I really enjoy matching riders, both performance and academy, with something affordable and beautiful to showcase themselves and their horse in the show ring. And, I also love getting the new excited student all geared up that is just beginning lessons and starting their equestrian career.

I am married to my wonderful, supporting husband Clay and we have two beautiful children, Trent and Salay.  My step-son, Trent, rode and competed on the academy level and is now getting his masters degree in business at U of L.  My daughter, Salay,  started competing at 18 months in lead line and now competes in the 17 and under divisions.
